PBC Staff

Gary P. Burton
Pastor

Gary has been at PBC since 1972. He has a long-standing reputation as a competent and committed pastor with staying power. Gary is progressive and driving, yet compassionate and sincere. He is a man of integrity with a wonderful sense of humor and deep joy in his Christianity.

Gary is a graduate of Samford University and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married, the father of two adult children and grandfather of five wonderful grandchildren.

Churches should not be judged by their seating capacity, but by their sending capacity. It is my hope that every believer who identifies with our church will discover the joy of serving.

We are poised and prepared by our heritage to seize the future. We will be guided by two overarching principles:

  1. PBC has a settled confidence in the Power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to change the lives of Individuals. We shall remain passionate in our desire for others to follow Christ.
  2. We intend to be agents in Social Transformation. Christianity is superficial if it does not interface with the social arena of life. In strategic, unoffensive, and non-confrontational ways, PBC can drive the forces of change in our culture. Redemption, renewal, reform, renaissance, and sometimes revolution are needed in our homes, schools, government, the workplace, healthcare and the economy. Every aspect of life should be touched by the gospel of which we are unashamed.
Our quest is a formidable one. While being grateful for our history, we also intend to make history.

A Message for Visitors

Pintlala Baptist Church must be experienced. There is a dynamic about the church's purpose and fellowship which cannot be condensed to words or websites. It doesn't take long for those who attend to be afforded opportunities for authentic friendships, spiritual growth and development, along with life-changing opportunities for service. In style and substance, together we seek to create an non-judgmental atmosphere of acceptance and unconditional love.
